Remove Password for HITACHI 7210

Password Remove is a very useful function for HITACHI doctor, but some people may confuse about the operation steps, this case I will show the operation steps one by one to help you clear the puzzlement.

Now this is a locked a drive, as the picture:

The principle of the password remove is backup the password module of SA-C to take place the password of SA-A. If we do some unlawful operation for the drive, and the drive detected the operation may affect its health, it may be locked and the password module in SA-A also be changed, so we couldn’t access both the service area and data service.

But we know that any operation for the drive wouldn’t affect the modules in SA-C. So we could switch to SA-C and backup the password module to replace the one in SA-A.

Now we begin to solve this problem: first we need to set the drive as safe mode. Then power on and choose “SA-A/SA-C switch”:

A moment later shows this dialog box:

Before we click OK button, make sure the drive is in safe mode!

Then the program will power off and on automatically, and a moment later shows this dialog box:

Now we should change the drive back to normal mode, before we click the OK button, make sure the drive is in normal mode!

Now the drive is working in SA-C choose the working destination to SA-C:

Backup the ICES module (in other models may SECI or PWSD):

Change the work area to SA-A again:

Set the direction and upload the password module:

Then choose “SA-A/SA-C switch” and repeat the safe-normal setting back to SA-A. Load from HDD, now we can see the password has been removed:
