Commands in Level 2

Commands in Level 2 are used to read/write firmware modules etc.

Command U is to spin up motor while command Z is to stop motor.

Command H is to choose head # with the format of Hx, where x stands for head #.


Command r is to read data from current cylinder with the format of rx,y,z,a.

—x stands for initial sector need to be read; if x is input, it means to read data from data area.

—if x is not input, it means to read data from initiao sector of service area.

—if y is input, z stands for length in sectors.


Command s is to seek to cylinder and head with the format of sx,y,z.

x stands for physical cylinder.

—y stands for head #.

—z is valid key, the command is valid only when z is 22.


Command w is to write data to current cylinder with the format of wx,y,z,a.

—x stands for initial sector need to be written.

—y stands for current sector # and is only valid when x is not input.

—z stands for length in sectors.


Command x is to display zone allocation.
