Commands in Level 3

Commands in Level 3 work on servo system and is used for checksum test.

Command D is to test seeking time with the format of Dx,y,z,a,b,c.

—if x is input and not 0, it is seeking length; if x is 0, it means random test.

—if y is input, it means slow write seeking; otherwise it means fast read seeking.

—if z is input, it means circulate times; otherwise default value will be used.

—if a is input, random test will be performed on all heads.

—if b is input, test with specified length will be preformed on head #0.

—if c is input, a historical test report will be output.


Command G is to convert hexadecimal cylinder to Gray cylinder with the format of Gx. The command is valid when Cert is valid.


Command Q is to perform read/write checksum test with the format of Qxx,yy, where xx stands for initial sector # in every cylinder with default value 000 and y is length in sectors with default value of remained sectors. If checksum test fails, an error code will be returned.


Command V is to read content of GC1/GC2/GC3 registers with the format of Vx,y,z.

—x is number of register

—y is value of write register.

—z is key value. If z is 1, it means write register.


Command s is to seek to cylinder/head with the format of sx,y,z.

—x is cylinder #

—y is head #

—z is offset of cylinder.
