This material summarize how to set jumper between master mode and safe mode for all drives which supported by SalvationDATA.
Seagate:
When connect ST drive to doctor, the jumpers was occupied by the serial command terminal, so we needn’t to set the jumper. But when connect to DC, we must set the drive as safe mode, otherwise all lights on DC will light, the error represents is same as no drive connection:

For 3.5″ ST drive, on the label we could find how to set the drive as master mode, generally as the picture:

The 2.5″ drive is working in master mode without any jumpers as default.
Usually we don’t set jumper for switch safe mode for ST drive. We could remove PCB from HDA and just connect it to doctor, or choose “turn to F level” in the program, then the drive was working in safe mode.
Hitachi:
We must set Hitachi as master mode when it connected with doctor, or else we may found the status always shows “NO HDD”:

3.5″ IDE interface drive:
Master mode:

Safe mode: (usually work for SA-A/SA-C Switch)
3.5″ SATA interface drive:
Master mode:
Work in master mode without any jumpers.
Safe mode:
Pull the data line out as the following picture:

2.5″ IDE interface drive:
The 2.5″ drive connects with the doctor via an adaptor. Work in master mode as default. Switch to safe mode we must set jumper on the adaptor:

2.5″ SATA interface drive:
Same as IDE drive, Work in master mode as default. Switch to safe mode we must remove the PCB from the HAD and just connect the PCB with doctor.
For ATCS and ATDA, switch to safe mode need a special measure “RC jumper”: short the two points on PCB as the picture:

In addition, the following series needn’t set jumper when switch to safe mode:
DKLA;DYLA;DADA;DTCA;DBCA;DARA;DJSA;DCYA;DJNA;DPTA;DTLA;AVER;AVVA;AVVN.
WD:
WD drive works in master mode without any jumpers. And for 3.5″ drive, remove the PCB and just connect with it is the safe mode.
We also could set the jumper switch to safe mode.
IDE drive:

SATA drive:

Maxtor:
For Maxtor drive, we must set the jumper to make it work well. How to set jumper is related with the control chip. Divide into DSP and PKR.
DSP: include previous before 4D and some of 4D series.
Master mode:
or
Safe mode:
or
PKR: the all which after 4D series, include some of 4D series.
Master mode:
or
Safe mode:
or
If the jumper setting is not correct, the status may shows nothing:
