Last day i got a case from one of our client.The hitachi drive can not be detect in the bios,that is to say,the data on the drive can not be accessed normally. Data Compass shall be used to recover data in this case.
We can see from the pic that the data can’t be accessed.
Obviously,the MBR,the DBR and all the other data can’t be explored.
Then we go back to the Hardware Control Tab,select the family of this drive,which is VLAT,and then click the SAVE button.
Turn to Sector View Tab again,try to explore the MBR.
Now it can be access properly.So we go the logical software DCEXP to try recover the data.
Because it’s a file system of MAC,HFS+,so we need to scan for the partitions.
SA emulation:It’s an unique technology for Data Compass.It’s helpful for the Hitachi drives which has bad sectors in the Service area. You just need to select the family of the drive and the firmware resource of the drive can be automatical load by the Data Compass,then the data can be accessed normally.
