A case study for Data Compass

图片1

I made a remote assistance with my friend Bob yesterday. He said there are some bad sectors on the drive, but the drive can still be detected in BIOS and the folder can be viewed in Windows XP.but DC can’t access the data normally.

Then I loged into his computer by teamviewer, and try to view the data. But it only shows 5000.That means the data can’t be accessed properly.

I guess there must be something wrong with the configurations,so turn to the Hardware control tab immediately and check all settings there. Then I noticed “Waiting for readiness time” is changed to 10 seconds. That could be the reason for this problem.

Because for some drives, the health condition may be not very good, such as bad sectors. So the program may need a longer time to read the data on it.The default setting is 60 seconds and it’s based on many tests by on.For almost drives,it’s the best option to get back the data.

So I clicked the default setting button to set this value to its normal status. Then try to view the data. This time the data can be read successfully.
